Sunshine has been showing interest in learning more about her body. I'm excited about this because she seems to lack body awareness in certain situations. She's also noticing differences between herself and others. What a perfect time to introduce My Body Activities for Tots and Preschoolers!
Teaching toddlers about their bodies can be so much fun. There are so many different angles you can take, especially when they're asking questions.
Here's what we've been up to!
My Body Activities for Tots & Preschoolers with Free Printables
Body Parts Match Up
Sunshine will match up body part pictures, identifying the proper part as she does so. She does very well at matching activities so I'm hoping she'll be able to see this one through to the end. If it's too overwhelming, I'll only present a few cards at a time.

Stage of Life Match Up
This activity was inspired by Princess. Sunshine will identify the proper phase of life on each card and match them up to one of the Fisher Price
baby, girl, father, and
grandmother figures below.
If she does extremely well with this, I will work on sequencing the cards with her, first with four, and then progressing to six using our
foam letters.

My Body Can Move Counting Activity
Sunshine will select a card. We will practice the action on the card. She will then roll the
die. We will count the dots together and then do the action on the card that many times.

I Can Dress Myself
Sunshine does quite well dressing herself already, but she can always use some extra practice. She will dress herself, identifying which body parts each of the pieces of clothing cover. I may include a hat, sunglasses, and other items as well as the week progresses.
