Boat Activities for Tots & Preschoolers w/ Free Printables

Sunshine is a big fan of vehicles, especially boats.

She was extremely excited watching me prepare boat activities for tots and preschoolers with free printables.

I'm hoping she's as excited to work on them.

These boat activities include a lot of sensory experiences to help keep Sunshine regulated while she learns.

There's always the chance that the work may do the opposite, so I'm ready to assist to help her have an enjoy able experience.

Here's what's on her shelves!

 B is for Boat

B is for Boat

Sunshine watched her siblings use glitter on a daily basis last week and was not pleased she wasn't able to use some too.  I promised her she would have a glitter activity this week.

Sunshine will squeeze glue on to the "B" and then sprinkle glitter on it.

I've included a paint brush in case she's not strong enough to squeeze the glue.

In that case, she'll spread it out with a paint brush before sprinkling glitter on it.

Land, Air & Water Vehicle Sort

Land, Air & Water Vehicle Sort

This activity is not just about boats, but includes all types of vehicles.

I'm not sure if Sunshine will be able to sort them accurately.

If not, we'll have plenty of fun just identifying different types of vehicles. She loves carrying around sets of learning time cards.

Boat Identification  Sensory Bin

Boat Identification Sensory Bin

Originally my plan for this activity was for Sunshine to find matching boat figures.  I had picked another set up at the store, but the next day realized my kiddos had been invited to a birthday party, that I had no gift for. So the boats went to a friend.

Instead, Sunshine will match boats to pictures cards.  Hopefully she'll enjoy this just as much.  If it doesn't go well, I just may go to the store to pick up another pack.  Lol.

Painting Nautical Pictures

Painting Nautical Pictures

This unit seems to be all about learning, identifying, and practicing new words.  In this activity Sunshine will paint the nautical figures provided (one each day).  We'll practice identifying the wooden objects and colors at the same time.  Sunshine saw the wooden figures yesterday and now has been requesting her "puzzles" on an hourly basis.  Lol.

Pouring Water with Boats

Pouring Water with Boats

A few weeks ago we had a pouring activity on the shelves for Sunshine.  She was absolutely petrified of it, even after she tried it a few times.

I'm not exactly sure why she was so anxious, but I realized we need to start with easier pouring tasks.

This week Sunshine will practice scooping and pouring water with the boats provided.  We'll  practice identifying colors at the same time.

Play Dough Stamping

Play Dough Stamping

Sunshine loves play dough, but she still doesn't really know what to do with it.

This week we'll practice stamping boats in the "water."  If she does well with that I may add other vehicles to the basket.
